KAM profile keycaps are a uniform profile designed by Keyreative starting in February 2018, offering strong compatibility for keyboards with special layouts.
This profile evolved from the R2 row of Keyreative’s KAT design.
At the time of initial design, the only competing product on the market was the DSA profile keycap. Therefore, the following data is compared with the DSA profile.
Dimensions
- Base Frame Size
The base frame of KAM keycaps is 0.1mm larger than DSA keycaps (for reference: Cherry is 18.2mm, OEM is 18mm). When assembled on the keyboard, the keycap gaps are smaller, and the relationship is closer. The top surface area is also increased by 0.45mm, which moderately increases accuracy without raising the risk of mistyping.
- Sidewall Thickness
1.65mm
- Height
Derived from the R2 row of KAT, the height is 9.05mm.
- Compatibility
Includes 1u, 1.25u, and all other standard key lengths, making it compatible with most keyboards.
- Surface Finish
We have created both glossy and matte molds for KAM, making it the world’s first glossy PBT keycap. Thanks to the physical properties of PBT, even the glossy keycaps maintain a crisp feel.
Enhanced by Keyreative’s dye-sublimation plus process, the printing is very clear.
